Frequently asked questions
Yappy Kitchen is a small-batch bakery that handcrafts all-natural, vegetarian dog treats. Our mission is to create wholesome dog treats made with simple ingredients — because every dog deserves a treat (yes, even the picky ones).
Yes! All Yappy Kitchen dog treats are made with whole, natural ingredients and contain no fillers or unnecessary additives. We focus on clean, simple recipes with limited ingredients, so you can feel confident about what you’re feeding your dog.
We use whole produce and pantry staples you’d recognize from the grocery store. Some ingredients — like our peanut butter, cinnamon, and parsley — are sourced from specialty companies so we can be absolutely sure they are safe for dogs.
Our herbs and spices are sourced from a Pennsylvania company that specifies the scientific name of each product, so we always know we’re using the exact ingredients that are safe for dogs.

Yes! All Yappy Kitchen dog treats are 100% vegetarian dog treats, baked in small batches using thoughtfully selected ingredients.
Our recipes are intentionally developed to be allergy-friendly dog treats, so dogs with animal protein allergies can enjoy them too. While we believe most dogs benefit from eating meat, we also believe every dog — allergies included — deserves a treat.
We get asked this a lot! Sorry — we don’t make cat treats. All of our treats are vegetarian, and cats are hardcore carnivores who need meat-based nutrition. We love kitties, but meat treats just aren’t our thing.
Each batch of treats is carefully oven-baked, then dehydrated to remove excess moisture and naturally extend shelf life. Once finished, treats are hand-packed in resealable bags to help preserve freshness.
The only exception is our Pineapple Mint Parsley dog treats. Because this dough is naturally low in moisture and egg-free, these treats skip the oven and go straight into the dehydrator.

Although it’s not required by the Department of Agriculture, we include a “Use or Freeze By” date on every bag. This date is set six months from the day the treats finish dehydrating, so your dog always enjoys fresh, high-quality treats.

• Ideal for small dogs, training treats, and dogs who need fewer calories per
treat.
1-inch treat squares
• Sold in 6-ounce bags.
• Approximately 40–50 treats per bag.
• A favorite for medium and large dogs, and small dogs who firmly believe tiny
treats are a total sham.
Absolutely! Our ½-inch treat squares are especially popular as dog training treats. They’re small, easy to reward with, and made with simple ingredients — perfect for “sit,” “stay,” and please stop barking at the mail carrier.
Store treats in a cool, dry place, away from heat and humidity.
Yes! Freezing is a great way to extend freshness. We recommend thawing treats slowly in the refrigerator to prevent condensation and added moisture.
All Yappy Kitchen dog treats are handcrafted in Venetia, Pennsylvania, in small batches with the same care we give our own dogs — because yes, they eat these treats, too. Of course they do!
